10 questions that you should not forget to ask your photographer before hiring him:
- What is the actual photography type he or she are working with?
Commercial? Travel? Photos of nature? There are large differences between all types and it is not usual that photographer can specialize on everything.
- On how many weddings has the photographer actually worked in the career?
On the wedding is important to capture real emotions and photographer should contribute to the guests and make them feel comfortable. To some it comes easily and naturally, some need to do train a bit. If you want to be sure about your choice, choose among experienced photographers.
- How many pictures the photographer is going to take?
Is it going to be just a few artificial photos or he will spend with you all the event? Depending on photographer, for one perfect photo shoot is needed to take a tremendous amount of photos (see paragraph 8) and later to spend tens of hours to edit them. Then it makes difference if you pay for one hundred or thousands of photos.
- Does the photographer has scheduled an another wedding on the same day?
If so, make sure that the he is confident that he can shoot both weddings on time. One of the things that you really do not want to have on the Wedding Day is to have no photographer at all.
- Ask the photographer for adviсe you a place where he has already had a photoshooting before.
He will know the individual sights, lights and other details, which you need to be ready for and may save a lot of work in editing. Do you have a favorite place where you would like to have a photoshooting? Ask the photographer if he wants to check it with you first before the Day-X.
- Does the photographer has a colleague who helps him?
Lots of unique moments is difficult to catch by one photographer: face when the groom sees the bride for the first time and vice versa, or emotion of weeping parents and dancing grandmother.
- How many photos he is planning to prepare and share with you?
Will you get also unedited pictures or only edited ones? How does he decide, which ones are the best ones? Probably, you won’t get all of them, because average wedding photographer takes thousands of pictures per event, but it is important that he can choose and prepare a set of the best photos which will faithfully show your emotions.
- Is he going to use your photos for advertising?
If so, you should be asked for a permission. It is better to ask in advance just to prevent misunderstandings.
- What is the photographer and his helpers are planning to wear?
Apperently, you do not want to have a photographer coming in sneakers and sports jacket. For sure it is greater to see an equally to the others or decently dressed. If you have a wedding theme (such as the wedding in the spirit of 70s HERE), agree with the photographer on themed outfit.
- Is a photographer likable?
During the wedding day your photographer becomes a part of the family and shares with you one of the best days of your life. It is therefore important to choose a photographer depending on how you emotionally fit to each other and if you can put a smile on your face.
Your wedding day is going to be unique and on the photo and video captures all the emotions and moments will be seen, so it is better to have everything planned sufficiently in advance. We hope this article helps you to choose the right photographer and that everything will go according to the plan.
