Wedding in May ?! Here's what BeWooden's got to say!
BeWooden comes from a small village in the Beskydy Mountains, where honest craftsmanship is still honored. As are the old traditions and folk customs. And with that spirit in our joint effort, we bring the beauty back into the craft. Here is where 'quality over quantity' still has a meaning. And like in little villages, where people know each other and help each other. In our team, we are all pulling at the same rope when it comes to creating something beautiful.
IN THE FOLK RHYTHM
A wedding happened to be one of the items on the agenda of one of our brainstorming meetings the other day. Even though the majority of our team remains unmarried, it was not a wedding of one of us. But the reveal of a long-planned upcoming wedding campaign along with the new folk edition.
The brainstorming brought up an interesting question: What about weddings in May? It is a tradition that should be followed or just an unnecessary superstition?
'Marry in the month of May, and you'll surely rue the day.'
goes the old saying. This comes from the idea that a child conceived on a wedding night in May will be born into the harsh months of winter.
KNOCK ON THE WOOD
Even after a lively debate full of various ideas, we could not shake off the feeling that our meeting on Friday 13th was in an odd spirit. Some of us would now and then knock on their wooden wallets frantically as if to not jinx something! Well, the odd superstition occasionally creeps into our mind and we need to convince ourselves that it is just a superstition after all.
CAREFUL WITH THAT MIRROR
But then we found ourselves trying not to step on a crack or walk under that ladder. Or trying to think of a wish when we see a shooting star. It is just common sense not to walk under the ladder. But what about that one where the groom can not see his bride before the wedding?
Every one of us follows what suits them better and calls it a tradition, not a superstition.
SUPERSTITIONS AND SOME NOT SO SUPER
Maybe you'll dismiss the May wedding disaster superstition and have a wedding in a blossoming orchard, full of sun, flowers and bright colors. Possibly, you'll feel like not tempting the old faith and set for a different month. After all, there are still another eleven fantastic months to go around.
In any case, we here at BeWooden will be delighted to help with your wedding, no matter the month, all year 'round!
